As a periodontist, I have found that some situations are more likely to get dentists in trouble with their perio patients.  It is my hope that the following information helps reduce potential issues that can come up with periodontal patients in dental practices.

Many dentists struggle with conventional C&B impressions and are waiting for that perfect digital scanner that’s reasonably priced. Of course, this would only make sense if the digital impression was in fact consistently better that the conventional one.  For many years, the leader in the market has been CEREC because of its single appointment application, but since not every dentist enjoys the laboratory work associated with this technique, most opted to stick to PVS impressions.
